I've always said that, if given the power to go back in time, I'd use it to encounter the wealth of wildlife that lived in Britain in times gone by. With Joseph's soundscapes, I can close my eyes and it's as if my dream has become reality. They are an extraordinarily powerful and grounding way of connecting us to nature lost in time - a stirring  experience that inspires, educates and motivates us to bring back the noise of the wild.

Joseph's soundscapes are the closest thing to ecological time travel that I have experienced. His recordings are meticulously researched, based upon historical records and modern proxies, which means that you really feel like you're listening to the past. I have incorporated his work into online features and presentations, and the response has been universal astonishment. They are a wonderful way of showing how much we have lost, but also envisioning what the future could be.

Joseph invites us to expand our acoustic imaginations in service of a better world. Highly recommended.
